Dr. Iraj Harirchi, the spokesman of the Ministry of Health, stated in a press conference that the first disease case was observed in our country at 1998. This means that this illness has been being observed since 20 years ago, the drug for the illness exists in the country, and all of the patients are treated for free.
MOH’s spokesman added, people should use meats provided by valid shops and avoid meats obtained from direct resources. This disease is transferred through Hyalomma tick bites and bloody flesh’s contamination. It can also transfer in health-care settings via an infected person to the person that provides care. Dr. Harirchi continued that we perform hygienic healthcares based on existing protocols and people should not worry.
The latest reports from the head of the center for infectious diseases of the ministry of health, show that 28 people have been infected with Crimean-Congo fever from the beginning of this year up to now. Sistan-Baloochestan, Kermanshah, Bandar-Abbas, Insfahan, and Hormozgan are among the provinces in which this disease has been seen. Based on the sayings of Mohammad Mahdi Gooya, of the 28 infected people, 19 pertain to Zahedan, the center of Sistan-Baloochestan province. They were workers at a meat packaging workhouse. One person was from Kermanshah, one from Hormozgan, two from Iranshahr, one from Zabol, one from Isfaha, and three from other provinces.
